            <title>CONTEST WINNER</title>
            <description><![CDATA[Wow.&nbsp; You folks are amazing!&nbsp; We had a record number of entries, more than a third of them new visitors to the site.&nbsp; My assistant, Lucy, printed out all the names, cut them into strips, and put them in a big bag.&nbsp; Then we shook the bag and stirred the strips with our hands and shook the bag again, over and up, over and up.&nbsp; I mean, we're talking totally low-tech here, but I love it.&nbsp; So ... ]]></description>

            <title>MY NEW YEAR&apos;S RESOLUTION</title>
            <description><![CDATA[Are you a resolution-maker?&nbsp; I've always been one.&nbsp; Often my resolution has to do with how I deal with people - I resolve to be more patient, more compassionate, more communicative.&nbsp; Often it has to do with work - I resolve to be better disciplined.&nbsp; Often (<i>most</i> often, if the truth be told), it has to do with diet - I resolve to lose those eight pounds that seem to be my yo-yo shadow.<br /><br />This year it's different, which isn't to say that I'm better with regard to all of the above, just that this year I'm taking a different approach.&nbsp; <br /> ]]></description>

            <title>ARE YOU INTO HOMEMADE GIFTS?</title>
            <description><![CDATA[I've always envied those people who could bake scrumptious cookies, decorate them, package them in pretty tins, and give them as gifts.&nbsp; Or bake a loaf of moist homemade bread, and put it in plastic wrap with a big red ribbon on top.&nbsp; Or take a glass canning jar and artfully layer it with the ingredients for something indecently good (like butterscotch brownies), screw the top on tight, and tie the recipe on with a ribbon.<br /><br />Being a knitter, I think about homemade gifts a lot.&nbsp; Actually, how can I not?&nbsp; <br /> ]]></description>

            <title>DO YOU WEAR SCARVES?</title>
            <description><![CDATA[Come November, I sure do.&nbsp; If my neck is warm, the rest of me is warm.&nbsp; If I get too warm, all I have to do is unwind my scarf.&nbsp; That's a whole lot easier than pulling off a tunic or - horrors - a sweater with stuff underneath that you don't want to people to see.<br /><br />I just did my annual fall migration, meaning that I pulled all of my scarves from their summer hideaway to a front-and-center winter spot.&nbsp; Do I have a scarf collection? <br /> ]]></description>

            <title>DO YOU LOVE STICKY BUNS ...</title>
            <description><![CDATA[... like I love sticky buns?&nbsp; If I had to choose between a honey-glazed donut, an iced cherry Danish, and a piece of rich chocolate cake, I'd ditch all three and go for the sticky bun every time.&nbsp; There's something about brewing a fresh cup of coffee and sitting down with a warm roll of dough coiled around brown sugar, cinnamon and raisins, and topped with more brown sugar and - ta-da - pecans, that makes the day start right.&nbsp; I don't do it often, but that makes it all the more special. <br />&nbsp;<br />Weekend before last, I was at a library event and had the pleasure of meeting two dynamic women.&nbsp; Bear with me, here.&nbsp; I'm still talking sticky buns.&nbsp;  ]]></description>

            <description><![CDATA[The Author's Galleys are the pages of my book as they will actually appear in the finished product.&nbsp; This is the next step in the publication process that I've been outlining for you.&nbsp; It's actually the last step for me - my final chance to catch any mistakes or make any changes.<br /><br />What did I catch reading <a href="http://www.barbaradelinsky.com/delinsky-wmss-summary.htm"><i><b>While My Sister Sleeps</b></i></a>?&nbsp; I caught a single "hydrangea" that should have been the plural "hydrangeas" to go with the verb "were."&nbsp; I caught one spot where "daughter" was supposed to be "son."&nbsp; I caught a couple of places where the quotation mark was missing at the end of a line of dialogue.&nbsp; <br /> ]]></description>

            <title>A CURE FOR THE COMMON COLD</title>
            <description><![CDATA[What do you do for a cold?&nbsp; What makes it shorter?&nbsp; Is there anything that will prevent it?<br /><br />I'm asking for a reason.&nbsp; When my kids were little, I had colds constantly.&nbsp; Then they passed the constant-cold phase, I started taking Vitamin C, and I had no more than one cold a year or two.&nbsp; Now the colds are back.&nbsp; If this is the price of being a Grammi to very young grandkids, I'll gladly pay it.&nbsp; But how to deal?<br /><br />Here's the immediate problem ...&nbsp; <br /> ]]></description>
